Entry 8- Pablo Picasso

Here is an excerpt from my essay on Pablo Picasso:
I am interested in many different things in the world. And that is

the beautiful thing about my style, and the way that I see things. I can look
at any object in the world today, and transform it into Cubism. This is seen in
my basically all of my paintings. Most of my art could be considered to be
sharp or edgy. But that is the way it is supposed to look because it helps
convey the feeling of the painting. Sometimes you really have to study my art
in order to figure out what is happening, this is because Cubism is being seen
from an entirely different view. So at first, it will be something that you are
not use to, but once you figure it out you will be able to see it as I see
it and hopefully understand it as I do.

Here is the link to my paper on Google Docs.

----For some reason the formatting is making this look weird from when I copy and pasted it from google docs...

Entry 7- Picassa

For my Picassa image I chose different pieces of art by Picasso and combined them into a collage. I cropped some of the images into just partial images. I also changed the colors to just one solid color, instead of the images being all different colors. The reason that I did it like this was because by combing these different colors it makes it look more abstract.

I added Picasso to the middle of my collage to show who he was. And that this is the type of paintings that he did.

Most of the images came from the same painting, I just cropped different parts of them out.

Entry 6- Google Sketch up Model

In this image I have taken the major buildings in this area and made them 3-D. This is useful because it gives some perspective to the size and location of each building. So if we were to create a museum it you would be able to tell how big your building is compared to some of the others in that area.

This also helps to tell me what buildings are in the area. From the street view of the building site, you can only see what is on the same level around you. With the satalite view from Google Earth you can easily tell what other buildings are around, besides just the church and the school. From the above view you can tell that although there is a church and school near by, most of the area around the site is residential.

This also helps tell the total size of the building site. You can use this with Google Sketch-Up and create a model of your building, so you can see how big it might be.

Entry 5- Building Site

At the building site there were alot of things that would effect how or where I could build my museum. The main things were the church on one side and the street and school on the other side.

With the church, I dont think that they would be very happy to have a big building be put up right in their backyard, so you would have to some how accomidate to that. With the street on the other side, there is a lot of traffic noise and usally that is not a good thing if you are trying to draw people in. You wouldnt want traffic noise to be coming inside your building so that might make you put the entrance on one side or the other. And the last thing is the school. It will be busy when school gets out, and that could be a good thing or a bad thing. It could be good because you might get more people to come to your museum, but it could be bad because you would have a bunch of unwanted people hanging around your building.

Picasso would see this site through the eyes of a cubist artist. Which to me, means seeing things in different shapes and sizes, and maybe not caring so much about the physical aspects of the site, but about the culture and sense around the place.

Entry 4- Google Docs

So far Google Docs is pretty good. I like the fact that it allows to create something, then easily share it with any one. It is easy to use, because it is formatted like a Microsoft Word, so it understandable. It is easy to send to another person as well, all you have to do is select their e-mail address and then send them your "Doc" and then they will be able to view it.

To me one of the most useful things on the site is the ability to publish it online, so that anybody can see it. This makes it even easier to share your ideas and concepts with others. This is useful because then you don't even have to email your document to anyone. All you need to do is give them the URL of your document and they can view it online.

So overall, Google Docs is a good thing for us to use because it allows us to enhance our communication with each other even more. We can invite others to view our paper, or just publish it online so everyone can see it.

Here is the link to my current Google Doc.

Entry 3

For my museum I am thinking about doing Abstract Art for the design of my Museum. There is a lot of information on this type of art, that you can find on this site. Abstract Art started with two main artists back in 1910, they were Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque. They introduced cubism, which led to Abstract paintings such as this:
Abstract Art usually has a picture in it, that you may or may not be able to see easily. For example, in this picture there are two faces that are playing instruments.

Wikipedia describes Abstract Art as using a visual language of form, color and line to create a composition which exists independently of visual references to the world.

Picasso is one of the most important Abstract painters of our time. He was one of the founders of cubism(which led to Abstract) and almost all of his painting are done in Abstract. Here are some of his paintings:

Entry 2- Class Syllabus Homework

Architecture 1 will be about creating and designing things based on a certain type of style and art. We will be able to research our own type of art choice, and then use that choice to design a museum. The museum will be designed based on the art choice that we have chosen and will be designed to have the style of that art choice. We will have our own personal style that will be shown in our various drawings and designs. By the end of the term we will have designed a museum that shows our own personal style and displays the things that we have discovered about our art form. The museum will be created by our own creative opinion and should show our ideas and concepts.

Entry 1 Blogging in Architecture

Blogging can help us in architecture because it can help us communicate with each other. It can allow us to share ideas and concepts that someone else may not have known. Blogging is used to share information, and if someone has a new idea we will be able to view it looking at their blog. It can also provide a way to view pictures of other peoples stuff or anything that they have created. Blogging also lets you study other peoples work to see if they have anything that you might not have. Mainly, blogging allows us to communicate with one another, and allows us to display our own information and look at other peoples information.

Wikipedia says that blogs are used as corporate tools, as to enhance communication and culture in a corporation. Blogs are mainly used as a personal website to display your own personal information and view others.

The definition of blogging on dictionary.com is, to write entries in, add material to, or maintain a web log.
